About the Author

Irene Sandra Doti, author of Italian Desserts and The Cobbler Crusade (written as Irene Ritter) is a Chicago native who inherited a rich tradition of Italian dessert making from her Sicilian born mother.  Irene also weaves tales of her Italian heritage and Chicago childhood into her recipes.

The Cobbler Crusade expands the notion of fruit cobblers to include savory meat, seafood and vegetable main dishes.  All you need is a bowl and a wooden spoon.

She currently lives near the Southern California beaches and is always searching for an inspired recipe.  There’s a story behind every great recipe, she adds.
