Pick a Studio Ghibli Movie, Get a Book Rec!

I remember the first time I saw a Studio Ghibli film. I was about 6, and the movie was Kiki’s Delivery Service. The audio was in the original Japanese, and I hadn’t yet developed the skills or patience to read subtitles. But I didn’t need them. I was enchanted, captivated by the splendor of the visuals and the thrilling evocation of the soundtrack. And I was absolutely obsessed with Jiji. (I have a black cat of my own now).

With that first memory in mind—of being captivated and enchanted—I’ve gathered a group of books that evoke that same sense of wonder and magic as a Studio Ghibli film.
