Wibke Grütjen

Wibke Grütjen is Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of Hachette Book Group. Wibke

joined Hachette Book Group in March 2019.

Wibke started her career in 2001 as an Editor of ArtBibliographies Modern in Oxford, England. After moving to the US in 2003, she worked in television production for networks including WETA, ABC News, and The History Channel. She returned to England in 2007 and took on the position of Head of Research for Penguin UK. In 2010, Wibke and her family settled in New York, where she joined Macmillan Publishers’ digital marketing division.

At HBG, Wibke is responsible for the development of the company’s marketing strategy, marketing technology and analytics. She works closely with the marketing divisions of all HBG imprints to deliver effective marketing campaigns that are informed by market and audience insights and contribute to the long-term development and growth of HBG’s relationship with readers.

Wibke is a graduate of Oxford University and the Free University in Berlin and lives in New York City with her husband and two children.
