A second-chance queer romance about two teens whose in-world D&D characters fall in love, but in IRL  . . . things are more complicated, perfect for lovers of Ashley Poston and Becky Albertalli.

Harper Reid's summer is not off to a great start.  After the death of her grandpa, she moves across the country, leaving her friends and Dungeons & Dragons group behind. Finding herself back on the farm where she spent her childhood is not how she planned on spending her senior year, but running into Ollie Shifflet, her childhood best friend and first crush, makes things a little better. When Harper discovers Ollie and her friends are starting a new D&D campaign, she quickly joins the group, and as Harper and Ollie reconnect in the real world, romantic tension begins to build between Harper’s brash Barbarian and Ollie’s proud Paladin.

With each gaming session, the two friends start to question if maybe there is something more between them, until their D&D characters’ relationship complicates Ollie’s goal to keep her bisexuality private and Harper’s struggle to stay true to herself and her goals for the future. As the school year starts to come to a close and the campaign's final boss looms on the horizon, Harper and Ollie must decide if their feelings for each other are more than just a fantasy and if they are ready to make them a reality.

  • "I read this book in one sitting and adored every second of it. This joyous, loving book is the perfect blend of nerd culture and rom-com goodness. M. K. England maxed out their charisma and wisdom stats and rolled twenties every throw while writing this book!"
Beth Revis, New York Times Bestselling author of Night of the Witch
  • “An endearing romance full of hope, pining, and potential TPKs, Roll for Love is a critical hit. England's newest novel is perfect for readers in search of charming second-chance romance, queer found-family, and the best amount of TTRPG puns—all of them.”
Linsey Miller, author of What We Devour and Prince of Song & Sea
  • "Calling all queer kids: Welcome to the Gay Barn, where you can roll for romance and claim the space to be exactly who you are! By turns tender, funny, romantic, and poignant, Roll for Love is exactly the book I wish I’d had when I was growing up bi and confused in a small rural southern town. It's perfect for fans of The No-Girlfriend Rule, Becky Albertalli, and Dungeons & Dragons. I absolutely loved it."
Jamie Pacton, bestselling, award-winning author of The Absinthe Underground, The Vermilion Emporium, and Furious
